Fresh Green Beans

Bobby beans

Origin

Bobby beans originates from the South American landscape, where they have been cultivated for hundreds of years. The Aztecs in particular used these, but other indigenous groups also greatly enjoyed the beans.

The bobby bean is today known as broad bean, pole bean and more, but the main thing is that it is called bobby bean because it is slightly thicker than the traditional bean.

The thickness comes because of the juiciness and flavor that this variety has absorbed and maintained until it was picked.

Bobby beans naturally contain lectins, a plant toxin, and should therefore always be boiled.
